Allow me to introduce myself.

Pre-introductory note: Though I'm beginning this blog to share more about myself with fellow classmates (holla, 711!), I sure hope to keep it rolling as the weeks and years and decades roll by. My general purpose is to share thoughts on writing and reading, though let's just stick with this right now, yeah?

Who I am: a writer, a mom, a student, a reader, a crafter, a Wisconsinite
What I did in the past 7 years: graduated from UW-Whitewater with a BA in English with a Writing Emphasis, worked for 5 years as a copywriter for Kohl’s and The Bon-Ton Stores, partied a ton, got married, quit working to stay home with my two daughters, took up my MLIS studies
What I did today: ran all morning, danced with my daughters at a folk rock library program, zoned out during baby nap time, played in the water to stay cool, had a family dinner, started a blog
What I want to do: I’m focusing my MLIS degree on the public library, paying particular attention to youth services, an area about which I’m immensely passionate. In the far future, I'd like to continue my English education with an MFA. I sure do love to write.
What I really enjoy: my girls, books, knitting, Scrabble, pedicures, writing poetry, craft beers, online shopping

For my 711 classmates...
My cataloging experience?: Minimal. Very minimal. Like what I learned in 511 minimal. I have much room to grow.
Courses I’ve taken at SOIS:  Aside from core courses, I’ve taken 645, 646, 736, 745, and 990. This fall, I’ll be taking two more courses, though I’m enrolled in 4 (I KNOW, but I’m not squatting, I’m just being indecisive because I’m waitlisted in a course I really want to take).
